Calli McMurray is an award-winning journalist reporting on the infrastructure of science and health.
Currently, she’s a reporter at The Transmitter, a neuroscience magazine, where she covers brain-body physiology, methods development and the structural and regulatory issues that affect research. Previously, she interned at Spectrum and The Chronicle of Higher Education, where she won the 2024 David W. Miller Award for Young Journalists. She was a top prize winner of the 2025 National Academies Eric and Wendy Schmidt Awards for Excellence in Science Communications.
She has an M.A. in science journalism from New York University and a B.S. in neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin. She lives in Brooklyn.
